MSgt Michele L. H. Corning is an Officer Accessions Flight Chief, Training, Standardization and Operations for 318 Recruiting Squadron, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She directly oversees officer accessions operations, support, and training for the squadron. She is responsible for implementing and developing curriculum for flight chiefs and recruiters. She is part of the responsibility for accessing qualified men and women for Health Professionals and Line Officer accessions arena to meet the personnel procurement requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s highly technological Air Force. She is specialized in medical, dental and biomedical science corps scholarship applicants, fully qualified physicians and dentists, fully qualified biomedical science corps, and line officer applicants. She administers Squadron, Group, AFRS, Air Staff-Level waivers and exceptions to policy to ensure accuracy of documentation for skilled team of 79 recruiting and support personnel tasked with inspiring, engaging, and recruiting officer accessions from a 1.2 million-square-mile area of responsibility encompassing 21 Northeastern states, the District of Columbia and Europe.
Master Sergeant Corning enlisted in the Air Force in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 6, 1998 after graduating from Washington High School. She has served in a variety of assignments. She began her Air Force career as a Personnel Specialist at 75th Mission Support Squadron Hill AFB UT. She was then in 2001 assigned to the 649th Munitions Squadron at Hill AFB, UT. Then followed on in 2002 to the 368 Recruiting Squadron Mission Support at Hill AFB, UT. Sergeant Corning applied for a special duty assignment to become an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter in Eureka, California. She had a follow on assignment as a MEPS Liaison for the 341st RCS in Houston, Texas. Her next assignment was assigned as a Physician Recruiter for the 318th RCS in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to her current assignment she was assigned as a Health Professions Flight Chief for the 348th RCS in Clearfield, Utah.
MSgt Corning is married (Nikki) and has a child, Evan (13). MSgt Corning’s mother and father live in Antelope, CA. She has two older brothers, one late older sister, and is an identical twin.
